Jordi Valls

Jordi Valls holds a degree in Law from the University of Barcelona and has worked for many years as a lawyer. His extensive political career began in Manresa, the city where he served as mayor from 1995 to 2006. In 2006, he became the Minister of Labour and Industry of the Generalitat of Catalonia, and from 2007 to 2011, he was the president of the Port of Barcelona.
Later, he held senior management positions at the French company Suez while living in the United Kingdom, Chile, and Mexico. He has also been the general director of Mercabarna. Additionally, he has delivered lectures in seminars and postgraduate courses at CEPAL (UN), BID (World Bank), ESADE, and IESE, and has published work on topics related to infrastructure management, local policies, and public-private management.
