Independent consultant on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence
Karma is member of the Expert Committee for the Definition of the Strategy for the Transformation of the Administration of the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Improvement of Public Services (CETRA). She is also member of the Ethics Committee at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and Professor of Ethics and AI in Master’s Courses at Universitat de Girona and Blanquerna-Ramon Llull.
She is co-founder and Executive Director of the Visualization for Transparency Foundation (ViT), which promotes the use of open data to empower citizens and ensure accountability of public information. And Doctoral candidate at Pompeu Fabra University (Spain) at the Research area: Algorithmic Accountability Reporting; and Visiting Scholar at the Center for Technology in Government at Albany University (USA) in 2024.
She is also co-author of the report: «Artificial Intelligence. Automated Decisions in Catalonia» (2020), on ethics and data protection (Catalan Authority of Data Protection).
